Available with individual load cell capacities from 50 kg to 200 tonnes, the GPA kits are designed for rapid installation on tanks, silos and vessels. The units comprise of low profile, fully sealed, stainless steel load cells, integral mounting hardware and a stainless steel junction box. Optional weight indicators, smart junction boxes and local displays complete the comprehensive offering and full ATEX compliant versions are available for use in hazardous areas.
Unlike most competitive units, the GPA load cells come in pre-calibrated sets, making on-site installation extremely simple and, in most applications, removing the need for costly and time consuming calibration procedures. The load cells can also be supplied with terminated customised cable lengths to suit specific applications. The self-aligning mounting kits come complete with anti-lift and side restraints to ensure optimum system integrity and load introduction. The optional smart junction box offers a number of key operational benefits and stores the calibration data in its memory. This can be extracted either locally, via laptop PC, or remotely using Ethernet connectivity.
Already tried and tested in many installations across Europe, the kits are ideal for applications across a broad spectrum of industries including food, animal feed, chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and waste recycling.
PR series weight transmitters and amplifiers
PRWT weight transmitters are flexible and easy to use modules that have been specifically designed for industrial weighing applications where the measurement and secure transmission of accurate weight data is essential.
PRWT models are available for use in standard analogue systems as well as DeviceNet, Profibus and Industrial Ethernet networks, thereby offering optimum connectivity and speed of data transfer. The units can be mounted in standard DIN rail control panels or field mounted in optional IP66 wash-down enclosures.
The modules supply 10 V DC excitation for the loadcells and condition the resultant return signal. This signal, together with stored control and calibration data, generates a Gross/Net weight signal for display and transmission to PLCs and computers via the appropriate network. The units feature powerful ‘System on Chip’ technology which provides 24 bit (16,000,000) internal resolution. This is combined with proprietary drift compensation to offer outstanding levels of accuracy and stability. Adjustable filtering down to 0.2 Hz minimises the effects of mechanical vibration without compromising weighing accuracy.
System calibration can be carried out using conventional loading routines or by entry of the precise sensitivity and capacity figures for the load cells. Calibration adjustments are performed by means of the four push-buttons in conjunction with the LCD display. There are no troublesome potentiometers and access to calibration is pass-number protected. Each PRWT unit is factory calibrated to have the same precise input range and this facilitates unit replacement in the field. By simply entering the appropriate zero and gain coefficients into the replacement unit, the system can be up and running in a matter of minutes without the need for vessel emptying or recalibration.
